    Bedminster, New Jersey-based Verizon Wireless is America's second largest wireless carrier with a total of 51.3 million subscribers. It is owned as a joint venture between Verizon Communications and UK-based Vodafone Group.

    Verizon's network operates using CDMA2000 wireless technology for voice communication, and EV-DO for its mobile data services. The V CAST video and music network is one of the company's most popular EV-DO offerings.
