Verizon Internet Service
Verizon is the second largest DSL Internet Service Provider in America. It provides broadband internet access to about 5.7 million customers within its footprint, which includes much of the eastern United States. The company currently offers 3.0 Mbps of downstream bandwidth to its Premium DSL customers, and 768 kbps for "light" broadband users. These packages cost as little as $29.99 and $14.95, respectively, making Verizon one of the most competitively priced broadband internet providers in North America. As for future plans, Verizon is currently building its fiber optic broadband network, which will allow for higher bandwidth broadband services, as well as numerous IPTV and Video On Demand offerings. Some such services have already been launched in select markets. | |
