BellSouth Phone Service
BellSouth Corporation was a major residential telephone carrier, based in Atlanta, Georgia. It was formed as one of the seven regional "Bell" companies formed by the breakup of AT&T in 1984, after which it grew to swallow South Central Bell and provide telephone service to the majority of customers in the southeastern United States. The company was recently re-acquired by "The New AT&T," in a deal worth over US$80 billion. |
