    After Bell, Telus is Canada's second largest telephone carrier, and services several million business and residential customers, mostly in the western Canadian provinces.

    Telus is based in Alberta, but became the incumbent provider in British Columbia as well, after a merger with BC Tel in 1999. It also provides local and long distance telephone service in some areas of Quebec.

    Aside from its core telephone business, Telus also offers dialup and broadband internet service, as well as cellular phones, and most recently, a digital television offering.
